<p>Alkoxylated cpds. (I) are prepd. by reaction of epoxidised 10-22C carboxylic acid derivs. with 2-4C olefin oxides, in presence of alkoxylation catalyst(s) and also of a mono- and/or poly-alcohol. (I) have 20-90 (40-80) wt.% of olefin oxide content, and are prepd. from ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide, in presence of alchols to give 0.1-2 (0.2-1) OH gps., w.r.t. 1 epoxy gp.. The carboxylic acid derivs. are epoxidised mono-, and/or tri-glycerides and/or epoxidised alkyl esters of 16-22C carboxylic acids, with 1-18C in the mono-alcohol. Reaction is at 110-220 (150-190) deg. C and 10power-5 to 2 x 10power-6 Pa (3-9 x 10power-5 Pa).</p> |
