<p>PURPOSE: To prevent the leakage when a gate is closed by providing an outer surface of a seat ring and an inner surface of a counterbore recess with high interference fit seal on a leading seal surface, and making the seal surfaces engaged with the recess surrounding the entry of an inlet and an outlet. CONSTITUTION: A flange 70 is located in a recess 20 after a flange 68, so that it is explained as a trailing flange 70. The flanges 68, 70 are respectively outwardly and inwardly extended to provide the round seal surfaces 74, 76, 78, 80. The fit seal of the round seal surfaces 74, 76 on the leading flange 68 provides the tight interference fit seal in an inner surface of the recess 20 and around an outer surface of the surface 54, so that the leakage from a valve chamber 14 to an outlet 18 can be prevented. The leakage from an inlet 16 to the valve chamber 14 is generated between a surface 48 of a seat ring 22 and a surface of a gate engaged with the surface 48. Generally the pressure of the flow of the fluid passing through a valve 10 is the pressure acting on the gate, and the gate is pressed and engaged with the outlet seat ring by the pressure so that it is tightly sealed.</p> |
