Recombination laser plasma (44), generated between two electrodes (18,20), spreads out into a plasma cloud, cools, recombines, enters a laser resonator in an active state and produces laser beams. One electrode is an anode (20) and the other is a cathode (18) adapted for field emissions. The recombination laser plasma (44) is produced by applying a h.v. pulse through explosion type evaporation of the cathode material due to field emission. USE/ADVNATAGE - Higher power density in laser medium achieved rapidly by simple means.
