769,050. Centrifugal separators. KONINKLYJKE MACHINEFABRIEK GEB. STORK & CO., N.V. May 16, 1955 [May 15, 1954], No. 14010/55. Class 23 In a multi-cell cyclone, dust is discharged through slots in the peripheral walls of the cells into a collecting chamber to which suction is applied, and further slots are provided in the ends walls of the cells adjacent the dust discharge slots. The separator is interposed in a duct 5, dust laden air entering the cells through whirl producing vanes 6 and cleaned air being discharged from the cells through outlets 2. The separated dust passes through the slots 8 to the collecting chamber, which is formed between walls 3, 7, to fall through shoots 11 to an oulet 12. Gas sucked from the chamber by a fan 15 passes to the inlet of the separator through a cyclone 14. The slots 10 in the end walls are inclined, and connect the interior of the cells with a chamber formed between walls 7, 4 and vented to atmosphere so that a whirling stream of air enters the cells to facilitate dust discharge through the slots 8. Compressed air may be supplied to the last mentioned chamber to free dust clogging the slots 8, |
