The invention concerns a vertical storage facility 1 in particular for motor vehicles which preferably is sunk in an excavation and which comprises a vertical framework constituted by two mutually connected vertical support columns. A driven endless and revolving chain 5 passes through two vertical guides in each support column and consists of individual chain links 5a, 5b connected to one another by a support-and-guide pin 4 resting in said guides. The particular chain 5 is reversible both at the lower open end and at the upper open of the said guides. Each chain link 5b comprises a support arm 6 extending outward from the said framework, the two chains 5 each comprising one support arm 6 at the same elevation and in the free ends of said arms rests in each case one support bolt 9 for a horizontal storage platform 2. Each storage platform 2 comprises two support bolts 9 which are both located in the longitudinal center axis of this storage platform 2 and each of which is rotatably supported in the free end of a support arm 6 of one of the two chains 5, at least one control lever 10 being affixed to each storage platform 2 and one guide roller 13 being affixed at least to one corner of said platform. The storage facility 1 is free of functional storage components in the area driven and walked on by the user and thereby it especially free of danger and more user-friendly.
