The balustrade, consists of a handrail (3) supported by uprights (1). It is attached to the edge of a balcony (14) so that it can be easily removed if required. Each upright is L shaped with the horizontal part (13) fitting in a socket (11) in the edge of the balcony floor. The socket is formed by a tube which is embedded in to the concrete of the balcony. A bracket (2) is attached to the upper end of the upright to support the handrail. The horizontal part of the L shaped member may be pivoted to the upright part.
