The tool has a body which is held in the hand and has a rectangular groove (5) along one surface. The edge of a flat file (6) is held in the groove by two screws (7) so that part of its useable surface projects from the groove. A hollow (8), next to the groove, has a flat surface (9) perpendicular to the groove's adjacent surface. A guiding plate is held in the hollow by dovetails at its ends. The angle between the guiding surface and the plate's opposite surface is complementary to the angle between the edges to be sharpened. USE - The hand tool is for sharpening the used edges of a tool.
