<p>NEW MATERIAL:An optically active compound shown by formula I (R<1> is H or readily eliminable protecting group selected from alkenyl, aralkyl, alkyloxymethyl, 1-alkyloxyethyl, hetero atom-containing cyclic alkyl and silyl; X is halogen or R<4>SO3; R<4> is alkyl or aryl; * shows asymmetric carbon atom). USE:An intermediate for producing prostaglandins by an extremely shorter process than a well-known method. PREPARATION:A compound shown by formula II (X<1> is halogen; R<3> is readily eliminable protecting group selected from alkyl and aralkyl which may contain halogen-substituted group and two R<3> may be bonded to form cyclic acetal) is made to react with an optically active compound shown by formula III to give a compound shown by formula IV and a protecting group R<1> is introduced to OH thereof to give a compound shown by formula V. Then the acetal part of the compound shown by formula V is hydrolyzed in the presence of a weak Lewis acid to give a compound shown by formula I.</p> |
