PURPOSE:To obtain a dandruff-preventing skin agent for external use or cosmetic for skin, scalp and hair by compounding a water-soluble component extracted from Japanese and Chinese crude herb drugs as an agent for inhibiting proliferation of dandruff bacteria. CONSTITUTION:The objective cosmetic can be produced by compounding a skin agent for external use for the treatment of skin, hair, scalp, etc., or a cosmetic with 0.1-5% of a dandruff bacteria inhibiting agent containing a water- soluble component extracted from UKON (rhizome of Curcuma longa), SHAJIN (root of Adenophora stricta) and/or AMACHAZURU (Gynostemma pentaphyllum). The dandruff bacteria is Pityrosporum ovale which is a yeast constantly existing on the scalp. The dandruff bacteria inhibiting agent is also effective in pharmaceutically treating seborrheic eczema of scalp, preventing alopecia and promoting the blood flow of peripheral vessel. |
