PURPOSE:To produce magnets free from insulator base materials by removal of organic materials contained in fiber or cloth following a procedure in which untreated Nb3Sn wire is wound into a coil with fiber glass or cloth which is heat-treated in advance at approximate 400 deg.C for 30-60min in the atmosphere for application as insulator. Heat treatment of the coil is then carried out for growth of Nb3Sn superconductive compound. CONSTITUTION:Untreated Nb3Sn wire 8 is wound on a stainless steel rod 7 with fiber glass tapes or cloth 9 lapped for electric insulation with half a width overlapped. The tapes or cloth 9 lapped for electric insulation withhalf a width overlapped. The tapes or cloth 9 as insulator are to be heat-treated at approximate 400 deg.C in the atmosphere for 30-60min prior to the application so that organic materials such as starch contained in the cloth 9 are carbonized for removal in form of CO2 gas. After such treatment is made, wire 8 are wound in multiple winding and laminated with the tapes or cloth 9 interlaid, and heat treatment is then carried out for growth of Nb3Sn superconductive compound. |
