<p>The invention concerns an apparatus for applying a material for a road covering such as for a road, motorway, etc., this covering being constituted by products which can be applied directly without requiring the preliminary deposit of a layer of bitumen. Products such as those which the apparatus of the invention uses are, for example, bitumen-clad gravel which is either hot or cold, or products which are currently called, in this field of technology, "bituminous concretes". The apparatus of the invention essentially comprises a stabilising device (4) mounted at the rear of the chassis (9) carrying the tipper (1), at the rear of the rear axial of the lorry, of the trailer or of the semitrailer and constituted by metal wheels (14) reducing the load on the rear wheels of the lorry (9), of the trailer or of the semitrailer when the apparatus for applying material is operating, a spreading device (5) to spread the material to be spread which is stored in the rocking tipper (1), a tamping device (6) and a smoothing device (7), the spreading device (5), the tamping device (6) and the smoothing device (7) being mounted on one and the same chassis which is integral with the tipper (1) and being fixed at the rear of the tipper (1) in replacement of the rear door of the said tipper. <IMAGE></p> |
