PURPOSE:To provide a proper steering torque of good feeling by furnishing a control means to change the impression current in the direction of increasing the assist force when the car speed is high. CONSTITUTION:When a steering wheel 46 is turned acutely, a calculation output means 3 calculates the impression current to suit the car running condition and emits it to an electromagnetic control mechanism 30, and thereby a power cylinder 12 gives an assist force to the output shaft 15. Thus steering operation is performed. During steering-back in which a return sensing means 1 is sensing the steering-back condition, a control means 2 veries the impression current calculated by the calculation output means 3 in the direction of decreasing the assist force when the car speed is low, and in the direction of increasing the assist force when the car speed becomes high. Thereby the steering torque during steering back is enlarged by the restorative force given from the tires at low speed running, to reduce with in creasing car speed. |
