The pantograph (1) for railway engine units comprises an upper arm (15) whose end supports a head (20) for collecting the current from an overhead contact line (2) suspended by droppers (3) set out at intervals along the length of said line. This head (20) is connected to the end of the arm (15) by a damped elastic suspension (25) which acts on the high frequencies of load to which the pantograph (1) is subjected, in particular on the frequencies at which it passes the droppers (3) of the overhead suspension system of the line (2). Use in particular in high-speed rail transport.
