PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy for measuring the level of a bias magnetic field and a measurement magnetic field by arranging on the magnet the magnetoresistive element at an acute angle with respect to the surface of the closest magnet and adjusting the inclination direction of the magnetoresistive element to the magnet. CONSTITUTION: A permanent magnet 41 is magnetized, in parallel with the axis of a magnet, namely in the vertical direction of the paper surface, and a magnetoresistive element 43 of a magnetoresistive converter is arranged at an angle with respect to the surface of the permanent magnet 41 and at a location away from the center axis of the magnet within the magnetic field of the permanent magnet 41. This enables the component of the magnetic field H to lie along the surface of the magnetoresistive element, giving a bias that is required for the magnetoresistive element, and adjusting an angleθto calibrate nominal operating conditions. |
