<p>PURPOSE:To detect the distance up to the metal embedded object present in a propelling direction by providing a sensor part detecting the magnetic field to be induced obtained from the metal embedded object and an operation means calculating the distance between the leading end part of a civil engineering excavating/propelling machine and the metal embedded object. CONSTITUTION:A sensor part 10 is mounted to the leading end part of a civil engineering excavating/propelling machine 40 to detect the distance up to the metal embedded object 28 in soil 29. An exterior material 1 is formed into a hollow cylindrical shape equipped with a front plate and a back plate while a transmission coil 2 transmitting an AC electromagnetic field and a receiving coil 3 detecting the magnetic field to be induced obtained from the embedded object 28 on the basis of the AC electromagnetic field are mounted in the exterior material 1. The coil 3 is mounted so as to cross the coil 2 at a right angle and, by this mutual arranging mode of the coils 2, 3, the AC magnetic field excited from the coil 2 arranged behind the sensor part 10 does not almost cross the coil 3. A lockin amplifier 15 detects the receiving AC voltage and phase difference of the coil 3 and an operation part 11 performs operation on the basis of a series of measuring parameters and finally calculates the distance (l) up to the forward embedded object 28 on the basis of detected parameter values.</p> |
