PURPOSE: To use an already curd elastomer layer by incorporating a specific molecular weight in a polyethylene, and obtaining a polyethylene layer to be bonded by removing a solvent from a polyethylene gel layer. CONSTITUTION: A polyethylene has a weight-average molecular weight of at least 0.5×10<6> kg/kmole. A bonded polyethylene layer is obtained by removing a solvent from a polyethylene gel layer. An obtained product has a higher bonding strength of the polyethylene layer and the elastomer layer when the polyethylene layer having Mw of 0.5×10<6> kg/kmole or more obtained by a different method is bonded to the elastomer under process conditions without change. Further, even in the case of starting from already cured elastomer layer, a similar good result is obtained. A very thin polyethylene gel layer can be obtained and its thickness is variable in a wide range such as, for example, 1μm to 5 mm, and hence various requirements regarding the thickness of the polyethylene layer subjected by different applications can be satisfied.
