PURPOSE:To increase the processing speed by assigning favorite processings to a host and a personal computer respectively to improve the processing effi ciency in the host and the personal computer and to perform the fine processing. CONSTITUTION:A personal computer 10 is provided with a manmachine interface processing means 16 which generates processing request information required for retrieval and processing in accordance with an input operation to report this information to a host and a graph output means 18 which generates a graph to display out it based on processing results sent from the host, and the host 12 is provided with a retrieval processing means 20 which retrieves a data base 14 based on processing request information from the personal com puter 12 and a processing means 22 which processes retrieved data and reports processing results to the personal computer 10. Thus, processings are distributed to effectively use personal computer's favorite man-machine interface function and graph output function and host's favorite data retrieval and processing function, and the processing efficiency is considerably improved. |
