<p>PURPOSE:To securely remove a defective picture element by forming a part of nonlinear resistance elements which connect a picture element electrode and a signal line by connecting a single or plural nonlinear resistance elements in series and more series-connected nonlinear resistance elements in parallel. CONSTITUTION:The part of the nonlinear resistance elements 101 - 103 which connect the picture element electrode and a signal is formed by connecting the single or plural series-connected nonlinear resistance element 101 and more series-connected nonlinear resistance elements 102 - 103 in parallel. Therefore, voltages applied to the nonlinear resistance elements 102 and 103 respectively are a half as high as a voltage applied to the nonlinear resistance 101 and a current which flows becomes extremely small to 1/)2 to the alphath power), so the nonlinear resistance element 10 operates as a normal active matrix element and the two series-connected nonlinear resistance elements 102 and 103 hardly contribute to the operation. Consequently, the defect is easily removed.</p> |
