PURPOSE:To enhance measuring accuracy by simple constitution by allowing a current to flow between electrodes and detecting the voltage generated between the electrodes as a single detecting the amount of a reaction product. CONSTITUTION:A gas sensor is formed by laminating a central substrate 2, an upper outside substrate 3 and a lower outside substrate 4. Gap coat 7 provided with gaps 5, 6 at two places is formed between the substrates 2, 3 and, further, a solid electrolyte substrate 8 is formed to the substrate 2 in a close contact state. Porous electrodes 9, 10 are provided to the surface of the substrate 8 at the parts corresponding to the gaps 5, 6. Porous rate limiting layers 12, 13 are formed between both gaps 5, 6 and the outside. The platinum heater 14 and clad coat 15 composed of aluminum closely bonded to the subustrate 2 are provided between the substrates 3, 4. A constant current is allowed to flow to the electrodes D1, D2 provided on both sides of a solid electrolyte substrate K and, on the basis of the voltage change generated between both electrodes D1, D2 at this time, the amount of a reaction product in an atmosphere is detected. |
