PURPOSE:To reduce the size and weight of the back light controller and to improve its reliability by controlling the brightness of a back light through the key operation of a key input means and actuates the back light again with the brightness at the time of its last power-off operation when the power source is turned on. CONSTITUTION:This controller is provided with a nonvolatile readable and writable storage means 6 stored with data corresponding to the brightness of the back light, an output means 7 which outputs the data corresponding to the brightness, and aback light driving means 8 which generates a back light driving signal corresponding to the data of the output means 7. When the power source is turned on, the data in the storage means 6 corresponding to the brightness is written in the output means 7 and when a key of the key input means 1 is pressed corresponding to the brightness, the data corresponding to the brightness is written in the storage means 6 and outputted to the output means 7. Consequently, the back light is driven again with the brightness at the time of its last power-off operation, the brightness of the back light is controlled through the key input means, and the high-reliability and small-sized lightweight controller is obtained. |
