The invention relates to a furniture element (18), especially for street furniture, of the type comprising at least one panel (30) which is held vertically at least in proximity to each of its extreme side edges (20) by means of a post (22). Each of the extreme edges (20) of the panel includes at least one ring (26) which is fitted over the associated post (22). The element may be designed as a wind break, each ring (26) being delimited between the opposite faces of two adjacent portions of two neighbouring panels about a fold (32) which separates them, and two complementary parts connected together by an opposite fold and arranged in the hollow of the fold (32) of the two panels (30). <IMAGE>
