This appliance includes one or more inductors (2, 3), of annular shape, arranged below a plate (1) used for supporting receptacles containing the foodstuffs to be cooked. Elements, made of a material with high magnetic permeability and low electrical conductivity, are arranged below these inductors to channel the magnetic field. These elements, which may have the shape of bars (4), include, at their ends, projecting teeth (5, 6), arranged respectively around the ring formed by the inductor or inductors and in the central gap of this ring. These teeth (5, 6) are in contact with the plate (1) intended to be used for supporting the cooking receptacles.
