PURPOSE:To rapidly, easily and uniformly apply a proper quantity of an ultrasonic gel to the ultrasonic radiating surface of a probe by providing a roller partly dipped into the ultrasonic gel in a vessel and partly exposed to the air, and providing a means for rotatably supporting said roller. CONSTITUTION:A roller 12 is rotatably supported by a rotating shaft 13 in such a manner that its upper part is slightly protruded from the upper surface of a vessel 11. Between the roller 12 and the vessel upper surface 11a on the rotating directional upper stream side of the roller 12, a space necessary to adhere an ultrasonic gel on the circumference of the roller 12 in a determined thickness is provided. When the roller 12 is rotated around the rotating shaft 13, the ultrasonic gel 5 in the vessel 11 is pumped into the air by the roller 12 and carried thereby. At that time, a probe 4 is moved in the arrow direction A simultaneously, whereby the ultrasonic gel 5 adhered on the surface of the roller 12 is uniformly applied to the ultrasonic radiating surface 4a of the probe 4. |
