PURPOSE:To improve printing properties and writing properties and to prevent whitening at a printed part by adding pigment containing primary particles having average grain diameter smaller than a specified value into an overcoat layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording body in which a heat sensitive recording layer, containing a colorless or faintly colored basic dye and a color developer contacting with the basic dye to develop color, is provided on an overcoat layer, a pigment containing primary particles having average grain diameter smaller than 0.2mum is added into the overcoat layer. Any pigment containing primary particles having average grain diameter smaller than 0.2mum can be employed, including clay, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, urea-formalin resin fine powder, and two or more kinds of pigments may be combined as required. When extremely fine powder is employed selectively, dispersion of light can be suppressed considerably while keeping high porosity resulting in a thermal recording body excellent in printing and writing properties accompanied with no whitening phenomenon at a printed part. |
