<p>PURPOSE: To shorten activation ageing time by containing BaAl4 and Ni by a proper quantity in an electron emitting substance. CONSTITUTION: In a dispenser cathode having an electron emitting substance and a porous metallic base body, BaAl4 and Ni are contained by a proper quantity in this electron emitting substance. A metallic powder mixed body composed of powder of BaCo3 , CaCo3 and AQ2 Co3 in the mole ratio of 4:1:1, is compressively molded through a press jig in a condition where the metallic powder mixed body is inserted and placed in a storage tank 3 as an electron emitting substance 2. Since the electron emitting substance formed in this way contains powder of BaAl4 and Ni, a monoatomic layer can be quickly generated through an activation ageing process, and ageing time can be shortened.</p> |
