PURPOSE:To stabilize characteristics to temperature variation by releasing strain such as warpage and twist due to a difference in the coefficient of heat expansion between a vibrator and a piezoelectric element with a notched part formed in the vibrator. CONSTITUTION:In the vibrating gyro 10, the strain such as warpage and twist due to temperature variation resulting from the difference in coefficient of thermal expansion between the vibrator 12 and piezoelectric elements 14a - 14c is released by the notched part 24 formed in the vibration body 12. Therefore, characteristics of the gyro 10 such as a drift due to the temperature variation are improved. The gyro 10 uses the piezoelectric elements 14a and 14b for detection and the elements 14a and 14b or another piezoelectric element 14c are used for driving. The voltage developed between the elements 14a and 14b only need be measured to measure a rotational angular velocity since the voltage developed between the elements 14a and 14b is varied with the rotational angular velocity when the gyro 10 is rotated around its axis as a center. |
