PURPOSE:To detect the generating torque of a synchronous motor correctly with a high reliability without employing any mechanical torque transmitting means by a method wherein the outer product operation of a vector is effected based on the vector of magnetic field flux and the vector of an armature current. CONSTITUTION:A position feedback signal, same as the output of a rotating angle detector 11, is processed to produce the vectors of magnetic field flux PHIdF, PHIqF while the output signals of current detectors 14A, 14B are processed to produce an armature ampare-turn vector. The outer product operations of these vectors are effected by multipliers 18, 19 and the results of the operations are added by an adder 20 to detect a torque T. Accordingly, a mechanical transmitting means so far is not necessary and the generating torque of a synchronous motor is detected directly whereby highly accurate torque detection may be effected. The detecting value is the instantaneous value of a torque and, therefore, the detected value may be used as the feedback value of a high- speed response control system employing the synchronous motor. |
