PURPOSE:To stably form a high-quality image by using a cleaning blade made of a prescribed material specified in loss factor peak temperature, and a developer obtained by combining each color toner specified in components, particle diameter, size distribution, and the like, and controlling an image bearing body to a specified temperature range. CONSTITUTION:The cleaning blade to be used is made of an elastic rubber having a loss factor peak temperature of <= 0 deg.C, and the developer comprises a yellow toner consisting of resin particles containing a colorant and a binder resin and >= 2 kinds of inorganic oxides, and a similar magenta toner and a similar cyan toner in combination with a black toner containing yellow, magenta, and cyan colorants and the like. The inorganic oxides contain a powder having a volume average particle diameter of 0.3 - 2.5mum in an amount of 0.1 - 3.0wt.%, the color toner has a volume average particle diameter of 6 - 10mum, and it contains a fraction of <= 5mum in 15 - 40 number %, a fraction of 10.0 - 12.7mum in 0.1 - 5.0 volume %, and a fraction of <= 16mum in <= 1.0 volume %, and high-quality images can be obtained stably for a long period by controlling the surface temperature of the image bearing body to 35 - 45 deg.C and using the developer having a size distribution satisfying the conditions of expression I in which V: volume % of toner particles of 6.35 - 10.1mum diameter; N: number % of toner particles of 6.35 - 10.1mum diameter; dv: average particle diameter of the total toner particles. |
