The invention relates to a chassis of a motor vehicle hood in which the body, capable of being closed by the hood, is delimited by a substantially horizontal bodywork surround (20) and by a windscreen frame (22). According to the invention, the chassis includes, set out symmetrically on either side of the median longitudinal axis of the body, two articulated structures, each of which includes a parallelogram (30) consisting of two long arms (32, 34), the lower ends (36, 38) of which are articulated to the body substantially level with the bodywork surround and to the rear of the latter, and the upper ends (40, 42) of which are articulated to a short arm (44) which extends forwards by means of an upper longitudinal member (50), the front free end (54) of which bears on the upper upright (24) of the windscreen frame, each articulated structure also including a middle leg (100), the upper end (102) of which is articulated to the upper longitudinal member (50) and the lower end (106) of which bears on the bodywork surround. <IMAGE>
