PURPOSE:To obtain the subject apparatus, having a holding part for cells to be treated, a capillary, arranged thereon and capable of discharging a genetic solution, a vibrating means for the capillary and position moving means for the capillary and capable of readily and rapidly introducing genes into cells without requiring troublesome pretreatment. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus 1 for introducing genes having a holding part 3 capable of holding a tree leaf 2, etc., as cells to be treated, a capillary 4, arranged thereon and capable of discharging a solution containing the genes from the tip thereof, a vibrator 11 as a vibrating means for vertically vibrating the capillary 4 relatively to the holding part 3 and stepping motors 6 and 7 as a moving means for changing the positional relation between the holding part 3 and the capillary 4 in the X- and Y-directions crossing the vibrating direction of the capillary 4 on an XY-table 5 having the holding part 3 fixed thereto is used to readily and rapidly introduce the genes into the cells. |
