Process for making thin-walled plastic components - has several stages of sintering for multicoloured parts

Thin-walled two-coloured plastic components are formed by sintering powder in a preheatd mould. The mould is placed on top of a sealed vessel containing the plastic in powder form. The vessel is inverted, shaken, and if necessary exposed to a vacuum. The container is then returned to its upright position and the mould separated from it. The mould and the first part of the component are then attached together with a further mould to another vessel which contains powder of a different colour and the process is repeated to give a single multicoloured component. USE/ADVANTAGE - Multi-coloured components can be produced without the necessity to produce individual part components to close tolerances and then joining them afterwards.
