PURPOSE: To obtain a low-calorie high-base-contg. chewing gum compsn. which contains a gum base, terpene removing flavor oil, strong sweetener and bulking agent at specific ratios and has the excellent intensity and duration time of the flavor. CONSTITUTION: The low-calorie high-base-contg. chewing gum compsn. is obtd. by mixing (A) 50 to 90(wt.)% gum base (more preferably polyvinyl acetate, etc.), (B) 0.3 to 3.0% terpene removing flavor oil (more preferably mint oil), (C) 0.01 to 0.60 strong sweetener (more preferably sodium saccharin salt, etc.) and (D) 10 to 25% bulking agent (more preferably xylose, etc.).
