The plug pin inserted into a suitably shaped socket opening (HO) is contacted electrically by conductive plastic (LK) and retained by insulating plastics material. Additional grip may be afforded by annular rings (RI) set into grooves (NU). The conductive plastics parts (LK) are embedded in silicone (SI) or flexible plastic or rubber, mechanically secured and electrically insulated from one another. Their shapes and the chemical compsn. of the silicon etc. make for definite and durable contact forces. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. in computers, aircraft and satellite communication links, protective relays and earthing. Contact reliability is ensured with ease of use.
