PURPOSE:To obtain a laser diode drive device which can be actuated with a low voltage by a method wherein a series circuit composed of a damping resistor and a capacitor is connected to a laser diode in parallel to hold down resonance. CONSTITUTION:In a laser diode 1, its anode is connected to a ground, and its cathode is connected to the drain of a FET 11. One end of a damping resistor 2 is connected to a ground, and the other end is connected to a capacitor 3 in series, therefore the capacitor 3 prevents a direct current from flowing through the damping resistor 2. The damping resistor 2 is connected to the laser diode 1 in parallel, whereby resonance can be restrained without inducing an unnecessary voltage drop by a damping resistor 2, so that a laser diode drive device can be actuated with a low voltage. |
