Resetting springs for car clutch pedal - are mounted in pivoted housings to provide constant resetting force
摘要
The transmission system clutch is actuated by a hydraulic cylinder (20) which has its piston rod (18) connected to the clutch pedal (14). The latter is held in the engaged position by a first spring (28) which is fitted inside a telescopic housing, with its lower part fastened to the brake pedal by a pivot (26) and its upper part fastened to the pedal mounting lug (10) by a second pivot (30). - A second spring (32) is similarly mounted on the pivots and is so positioned that its line of action (36) passes through the pedal pivot (12) not exerting any turning force on the pedal. When the latter is actuated, the turning force exerted by the first spring decreases, whilst the force exerted by the second spring increases so that an approx. constant force is exerted.
