<p>A damper (36) for use in a hydraulic clutch actuator to attenuate vibrations transmitted from the crankshaft (32) of the engine of the vehicle to the clutch pedal (11). The damper (36) is located in the conduit (14) interconnecting the master and slave cylinders (10 and 12) and comprises a housing (38) having a bore (38e) with a spring biased piston (40) mounted in the bore (38e). The bore (38e) is open at its rear end and closed at its front end by an end wall (38a) with a first port (38f) therein. The piston (40) includes a passageway (40h) connecting a second port of the damper at the open end of the housing with the hydraulic chamber formed between the piston (40) and the end wall (38a). The spring (44) bias the piston (40) between the end wall (38d) and the second port can be formed directly on the piston (40).</p> |
