PURPOSE:To prepare a food having excellent bonding and coating properties and useful as snack bar, etc., by bonding or coating an edible material with a bonding material composed mainly of solid oil and fat. CONSTITUTION:A bonding material is produced by mixing and kneading (A) oil and fat solid at normal temperature and having a melting point of usually about >=28 deg.C, preferably >=32 deg.C, (B) a dairy product (preferably 50-200 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the oil and fat), (C) sugars (e.g. glucose, etc.; usually 0-100 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the oil and fat) and (D) nutrient components, seasonings, etc. An edible material (e.g. popcorn) is bonded or coated with the above bonding material to obtain the objective food. The amount of the oil and fat is preferably >=15wt.% based on the bonding material. |
