The furniture element has a slide-in door. It has a narrow socket column (1) comprising two side walls (2,3), a column cover and a column base (5). The column itself forms with at least a second socket column (1a) of identical structure a closed walk-in cupboard unit by connection with a cupboard top (16). A folding door-leaf (20) can be attached to one of the side walls which after swivelling into a position of 90 deg. relative to the inserted door covers the front side of the column. USE - This furniture structure can be used as a core for walk-in wardrobes etc.
