The assembly rig for road arch support underpin props has a vertically guided pocket for the prop channel section and similarly guided holder for the outer prop channel section. The pocket (22) forms part of a sled (21) which is winched by hand (30) along a guide bar (9). The bar is lined up vertically on an installed prop at two-arch spacing. The holder (23) forms a sliding holder also on the sled (21) but spaced above the pocket (22). Pocket and holders (22,23) and top holder are L-shaped in horizontal section and the intervals between pocket leg ends and the holders are bridged by roundlink chains. USE/ADVANTAGE - Underground mining, roadway arch supports. Hand winched sled with pocket and holder can be run in by two men without special training and provides overall view of working parts.
