Classes 20(4) and 87(1) In a panelled ceiling, particularly of plaster, each panel is reinforced by an embedded wire 5 and provided, on at least two sides thereof with double hooks, preferably of sheet metal, one hook 7 being embedded in the panel and engaging the wire 5 and the other hook 8 projecting from the panel being hooked on to suspension fittings anchored in a ceiling supporting frame. A horizontal projection 9 of each double hook extends from the side of the panel. As shown, two adjacent sides of a panel each have a recess 1 and projecting tongues 2 whilst the two opposite sides are each formed with a flange 3 and grooves 4, the latter for accommodating the tongues 2. The wire frame reinforcement is braced by diagonals 6 of wire and the horizontal projections 9, Fig. 4, are formed with bentover portions 10 which engage within the U-shaped parts of hooks 11 embedded in the grooved edges of the panels. In a modification, the upper hooks 20, Fig. 5, of the double hooks 18 engage suspended T-shaped stringers 14. |
