PURPOSE:To shorten the time until a white balance is matched by allowing such control as to start a white balance adjusting means at the time of turning on of a light source from a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:The image input device having a stage 1 for the image 1a to be read, an image pickup means A for photoelectrically converting the image 1a a supporting means B of the image pickup means A and the white balance adjusting means D for automatically adjusting the white balance with TTL has the control means to control the white balance adjusting means D at the time of turning on of the light source so as to start the same from the prescribed value. Although the appearance probability is extremely high at the time of obtaining the white balance after turning on of the light source, the adjusting means is started from the final value (prescribed value) and, therefore, the number of looping times turning around the white balance of the flow of the control means and judging steps is drastically decreased and the time until the white balance is matched is shortened. |
