PURPOSE:To manufacture the title sensor having a stable characteristic by simple method wherein an electrode is formed in such a state that the enzyme of a built-in enzyme modified electrode is uniformly mixed with other electrode component. CONSTITUTION:An enzyme modified electrode is prepared by molding a composition obtained by uniformly kneading enzyme and an electrode component other than enzyme with a vehicle such as liquid paraffin or coating the surface of an electrode base material with said composition. This electrode is incorporated in a sample chamber while the sample chamber is filled with an electrolyte by a pump and a proper reference electrode is used as a counter electrode to apply a current to the electrodes. Subsequently, a proper amount of a sample containing a substance to be measured is injected in the sample chamber from a sample injection port. The oxidizing current generated by the reaction of the substance to be measured in the sample with the enzyme in the electrode is converted to a voltage value to be recorded on a recorder or the voltage value is subjected to A/D conversion and taken in a computer to measure the substance to be measured. The measured value is compared with that of a control solution whose concn. is preliminarily cleared to calculate the concn. of the substance to be measured in the sample. |
