PURPOSE:To speed up the rise of the electrostatic charge of the toner and to shorten the time required for a prescribed quantity of electrostatic charge as well as to stabilize electrostatic charge characteristics by decreasing the amt. of a charge control dye CCA to be used and incorporating a monomer component having a polar group at a specific ratio into a binder resin. CONSTITUTION:The CCA is added to the toner for developing electrostatic charge images contg. at least a coloring agent and charge control dye in the binder resin at such a ratio at which the surface dye concn. per 1g toner attains <5X10<3>g/g. The concn. higher than the range shown leads to the contamination of carrier surfaces. The monomer contg. the polar group for charge control is so compounded as to be added at 0.01 to 5wt.% of the weight of the toner. The polar group is hydrophilic and, therefore, the moisture resistance degrades when the ratio exceeds 5wt.%. Thus, the shorter time is, therefore, required for electrostatically charging the toner at the prescribed quantity and the degradation in the electrostatic charge quantity of the toner particles is obviated and the deterioration of images is obviated. |
