An electrical connector (10) for providing a snap-lock connection and automatic disconnection from a second connector (12). The electrical connector (10) has a housing (20), a plurality of contacts (18,42,44) a snap-lock latch (24) and a movable outer hood (22). The snap-lock latch (24) can automatically mechanically connect and retain the housing (20) to a second connector (12). The movable outer hood (22) can be pulled by a user after connection which disconnects the latch (24) and results in the disconnection of the electrical connector (10) from the second connector (12). <IMAGE> |
