This invention relates particularly to a no-center work supporting method and apparatus in a grinding machine which can machine the work with high precision. The work is supported at two points (A, D; AB, BD) and driven to rotate about the center of an inner or outer diameter of the work (w) as a rotation reference diameter. The work is supported in such a manner that a direction (T) normal to a line connecting the two support points (AD; AB; BD) is set as perpendicular as possible to a direction (U) in which the grindstone for grinding the work is fed.
