A footless electric motor housing is surrounded by a jacket, which is slid in position from one end and is separated from the housing by a space for a coolant, and which bears a terminal box and a door to an air duct. Housing I, having cooling fins 3, is surrounded by jacket 4, which has welded to one side a flange 6 holding a terminal box 7, and to the bottom, extending throughout its length, a duct 8 divided by a double wall 12 into two compartments 9 and 10, one of which contains a circulating fan 11. The fan circulates air from compartment 9, over fins 3, to compartment 10. The jacket has a reinforcing wall 13 in the region of the double wall 12, and duct 8 is sealed by a watertight cover 14. The jacket may be slid on with either end first. An end cover 5 is fitted to the rear end when assembled. Specification 751,083 is referred to. |
