PURPOSE:To speedily detect the position of an original by controlling a sensor attached to an optical system moving frame so as to be driven with a control means when an image is formed and the optical system moving frame is moved, and judging the position of the original based on a signal outputted from the sensor with a judging means. CONSTITUTION:An original detecting mechanism is provided with the sensor 32 attached to the optical system moving frame 30, the control means 33 controlling the sensor 32 so as to be driven when the image is read out and the optical system moving frame 30 is moved, and the judging means 34 judging the position of the original based on the signal outputted from the sensor 32. Thus, the sensor 32 is attached to the optical system moving frame 30, the control means 33 controls the sensor 32 so as to be driven when the image is read out and the optical system moving frame 30 is moved, and the judging means 34 judges the position of the original based on the signal outputted from the sensor 32. Thus, the position of an original can be speedily detected. |
