PURPOSE:To form a good image even in the case that the surface of a photosensitive body is abraded by an image forming action by lowering the surface temperature of the photosensitive body based on the number of times of the image forming action by the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The abraded state of the photosensitive layer 12 of the photosensitive drum 10 caused by the repeat of the image forming action is obtained in advance, and also the lowering of the surface potential of the photosensitive layer 12 caused by the abrasion is predicted and the surface temperature of the photosensitive layer 12 for compensating the predicted lowering of the surface potential is calculated so as to be set in a control circuit 32. And in the case that the image forming actions are repeated prescribed times and the transfer sheets are ejected in accordance with the number of the sheets prescribed by a transfer sheet counter 33, a heater 31 is controlled by a control circuit 32 so that the prescribed surface temperature of the photosensitive layer 12 may be lower than the heating temperature which is given at the initial time of starting the operation in order to compensate the lowering of the surface potential of the photosensitive layer 12 caused by the abrasion of the photosensitive layer 12. Thus, the good image can be formed even in the case that the surface of the photosensitive body is abraded by the image forming action. |
