<p>PURPOSE:To decrease the number of seek times and to speed up scrolling by dividing the picture element data of a memory means to prescribed small regions and storing the entire picture element data as a series of continuous addresses into the small regions. CONSTITUTION:This device is constituted of the memory means M 1, an image memory M 2, a display means M 3, a means M 4 for instructing the movement of a display region, and a display control means M 5. The memory means M 1 divides the entire image to the small regions at the width which is obtd. by dividing the width of the direction where the addresses of the image memory M 2 are continuous in the vertical or horizontal direction of at least the reading out region by integer of >=1 and the width which is >=2 picture elements. The memory stores the entire picture element data as a series of the continuous addresses in each of the small regions. The number of the seek times is decreased in this way and the scrolling is speeded up.</p> |
