PURPOSE:To obtain the title ceramic, a uniform sintered compact, by adjusting Al2O3 powder and TZP powder to a same pH level, using a ultrasonic homogenizer and then, wet-mixing of both the powders to effect formulation at their primary granule level. CONSTITUTION:Al2O3 powder and TZP powder are respectively weighed so as to effect a specified mixing ratio, and put into separate containers. Both distilled water and a dispersant are added to the containers, respectively, followed by adding ammonia water to these containers to adjust the pH values so as to come to equal level. The respective resultant systems are then put to ultrasonic agitation each using a ultrasonic homogenizer. After agitation, the two systems are quickly transferred to a ball mill pot where a wet mixing is then made. The resultant material thus treated is granulated, put to press- molding and then calcined in conventional ways. Thereby, both the powders will not agglomerate, a uniform sintered compact can be obtained, thus the objective ceramics excellent in physical properties such as breaking strength and fracture toughness can be produced. |
